Electrician with HVAC Experience

OBJECTIVES

A.        To provide efficient and courteous services to the Membership Corporation, its embers and other individuals by:

  1. Keeping informed on Cooperative policies, procedures, plans and programs in order to be qualified to inform its members and the general public on these when the opportunity arises.

B.        To promote an effective public relations program by striving to obtain increased member and public understanding, acceptance and support for the Rural Electrification Program in general and the Cooperative's plans and objectives.

C.        To help encourage and maintain high morale among employees by assisting in the creation and maintenance of team spirit, cooperation and enthusiasm throughout the organization.

D.        To continue personal improvement by reading and studying in those areas that will affect performance in the accomplishment of the above objectives.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

A.        Reports to:   Chief Operating Officer

B.        Directs:   None

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
  2. Install, maintain, repair HVAC systems within company own facilities
  3. Install water heater and HVAC systems for Upgrade 2 $ave participants
  4. Maintain and Repair water heater and HVAC systems for Upgrade 2 $ave participants
  5. Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
  6. Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
  7. Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs and test for adequate operation
  8. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  9. Inspect systems
  10. Troubleshoot commercial and residential systems
  11. Survey electrical systems, circuits and plans
  12. All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Associate degree preferred but not required
  2. 5+ years’ technical and trade experience
  3. Current electrician licenses
  4. Understanding of the current regulations within the field
  5. Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
  6. Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  7. Must be able to read blueprints and technical diagrams that show the location of the electrical components.
  8. They must also be knowledgeable of state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.

 

RELATIONSHIPS

Establishes and maintains the following contacts and relationships for the purpose of co-ordination and communication:

A.        Internal

  1.  Chief Operating Officer - advises, assists and informs or seeks the same on Cooperative Upgrade 2 $ave project installations, repairs and maintenanc.
  2. Office Services Staff - Advises and/or seeks advice and information on matters concerning the relationship between the Upgrade 2 $ave program and other Office Service functions.
  3. Other Employees - Assists in the creation and maintenance of team spirit, cooperation and morale.

B.        External

  1. Members - Explains Cooperative's operation, services and policies and answers members’ questions at every opportunity.  Takes active interest in maintaining friendly relationships.
  2. Community - Seeks opportunities to develop understanding and acceptance of the Cooperative's plans, programs and objectives.  Insures that her civic and community activities are performed in a manner that will reflect well upon the Cooperative and thereby improve its public relations.
  3. Program Contractor - Coordinates with the contractor as required at all times, striving for improved efficiency.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:  Associate Degree preferred but not required

 

LICENSES:  Current electrician licenses

 

EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years technical and trade experience as an electrician with HVAC experience is preferred.

  1. KNOWLEDGE: Extensive knowledge of electricity and HVAC systems, and work place etiquette. 
  2. ABILITIES AND SKILLS:  Must have the knowledge and ability to use machinery in the installation of HVAC systems and water heaters. 
  3. EXEMPT STATUS: This position is classified as a non-exempt one by the Fair Labor Standards Act and will be paid overtime when required.
  4. POSITION LEVEL:  This position is responsible for providing the necessary system information throughout the organization in the assigned areas of responsibilities.

Salary: Grade 8:      $48,428-$55,679-$59,305-$62,930-$70,181
