Beat the Jan. 27 USPS postage stamp price hike with e-billing and bank draft
The U.S. Postal Service says the price of a first-class Forever stamp will increase from $0.50 to $0.55 on Jan. 27, 2019 - an increase of 10 percent. The 2019 stamp price hike, accompanied by other mailing and shipping increases, is the biggest price increase by total cents in the history of the Postal Service.
Roanoke Electric Co-op member-owners can avoid the cost of mailing in their monthly electric bill payment by paying their bill automatically each month through the co-op's Bank Draft program. If you have a checking account, you can enroll in this program and choose your preferred bank draft date from four dates ( the 3rd, 10th, 18th, or 25th of each month) and not have to worry about purchasing a stamp, the cost of the check or remembering to drop it in a mailbox. You will also never have to worry about late fees again. Also, sign up for Bank Draft and receive an additional monthly $1.00 bill credit.
Want to save even more? Sign up to receive your monthly bill statement by email through the co-op's E-billing program. Instead of receiving traditional paper bills, you will receive notice of your bill via e-mail and you’ll be able to access the new bill online. This applies to delinquent notices as well! With E-bill, you'll never have to worry about receiving important information concerning your electric bill late again. Sign up for E-Bill and you will receive a monthly $0.50 bill credit.
Signing up for both Bank Draft and E-billing will not only save you the $6.60 per year in postage stamps, but $1.50 per month in bill credits adds up to an additional $18 savings each year. That's a total annual savings of $24.60! In times like these, every extra penny counts!
