Ever had a million dollar idea but didn’t have the resources to communicate your idea to the right people?  Well, your cooperative knows that it is critical to effectively communicate all of the great ideas, programs, and events that are available to our member-owners – especially those that enhance your member value and quality of life.  As a major part of our Strategy Execution System, we’ve found that communicating our actions is as important or more important than accomplishing the initiatives themselves.

We believe that we have some “million dollar” ideas and the right resources to communicate those ideas to the right people – you!

Social media is a critical component and we are deploying it to reach a certain segment of our membership.  Whether it be through Facebook, Twitter, or even YouTube, your cooperative wants to be sure that member-owners are the first to know all of the information that is important to them. Last week, NOAA warned of an “extremely active” Atlantic hurricane season, with 2-5 major hurricanes now in the forecast.

With this in mind, Roanoke Electric Co-op officials are emphasizing the importance of having hurricane preparedness plans in place. North Carolina sits on the Atlantic coast, and when hurricanes hit the region they often bring with them flooding, power loss and wind-damage.

The Roanoke Electric Care Trust board recently awarded grants to five community groups, as part of the co-op’s Operation RoundUp program. Third quarter grants totaled $10,111.25 and were presented to the following organizations:
