Budget Billing

Equalize the highs and lows of your monthly electric bills.

Energy bills have a way of zig zagging up and down due to changes in weather and/or other factors. Budget billing allows you the option of an equalized method of paying your energy bill by calculating your annual cost (from the previous 12 month billing history) into equal monthly payments over the next year. Request to be set up for budget billing at anytime.

Why Budget Billing?

  • Easier to budget
  • Makes payments predictable

Requirements:

  • Have service with REC for at least 12 months

How does this work?

  1. Your monthly Budget Billing amount will be based on the average of your actual bills during the last 12 months. 
  2. A certain percentage is added to the Budget Billing amount for inflation.

Last week, NOAA warned of an “extremely active” Atlantic hurricane season, with 2-5 major hurricanes now in the forecast.

With this in mind, Roanoke Electric Co-op officials are emphasizing the importance of having hurricane preparedness plans in place. North Carolina sits on the Atlantic coast, and when hurricanes hit the region they often bring with them flooding, power loss and wind-damage.

The Roanoke Electric Care Trust board recently awarded grants to five community groups, as part of the co-op’s Operation RoundUp program. Third quarter grants totaled $10,111.25 and were presented to the following organizations:
